The Butter & Blush Journal
Founder stories, formulation philosophy, ingredients, rituals, and the evolution of Butter & Blush.
At the Formulation Bench
Every story in this journal starts here: in the beaker, weighed and poured by hand, one small batch at a time.

Why This Journal Exists
Every product begins the same way. With an idea interesting enough to explore.
Sometimes it is an ingredient. Sometimes it is a texture. Sometimes it is a scent I cannot stop thinking about. Sometimes it is a question that sends me back to the formulation bench.
Not every idea becomes a Butter & Blush formula. The ones that do have been tested, changed, questioned, and reworked until they feel exactly as they should.
This Journal is where I share that process. Not only the finished formulas, but the thinking behind them: the ingredients that earned a place, the decisions that changed a formula, the stories behind a scent, and the moments that shaped Butter & Blush along the way.
If you have ever wondered what goes into creating a product long before it reaches your hands, I hope you enjoy what is waiting for you here.

The texture that started everything. This swirl is the moment formulation became addictive, and the standard for Butter & Blush started forming.

The Color of Night
