The Cream That Brought Everything Together

Long before Butter & Blush became a company, I was already making body creams.

I spent years experimenting with textures, butters, oils, and emulsifiers, always chasing the perfect balance between nourishment and elegance. Every batch taught me something, but I wasn’t creating products for a brand.

I was simply learning how to become a better formulator.

At the same time, I was living in Italy, studying cosmetic formulation while developing products for Planettoon® and Giggles & Glow.

My focus was children’s skincare.

Formulating for children teaches you to think differently. Children’s skin is delicate, so every ingredient must justify its place in a formula. You don’t formulate around trends or marketing claims—you formulate around function, compatibility, and skin comfort.

That philosophy became part of who I was as a formulator.

Then my mom was diagnosed with cancer.

As she went through radiation, her skin became incredibly dry, fragile, and uncomfortable. The prescription creams she was given never seemed to provide the comfort she was looking for.

For the first time, everything I had spent years learning suddenly had a purpose.

If I knew how to formulate for the delicate skin of a child, then I needed to formulate to that same standard for my mom.

I went back to my notebooks.

I chose kokum butter, argan butter, hemp seed oil, avocado oil, colloidal oatmeal, betaine, and olive-derived emulsifiers not because they sounded impressive, but because I trusted exactly what each one would contribute to the formula.

Every ingredient had a job.

Every percentage had a purpose.

The goal wasn’t to make another rich body cream.

It was to create a cream that felt luxurious enough to use every day while bringing comfort to skin that desperately needed it.

After countless revisions, I finally made the body cream I had been trying to create for years.

When my mom told me her skin finally felt more comfortable, I knew I had found it.

Not the perfect cream for everyone.

But the perfect cream for Butter & Blush.

It represented everything I believed formulation should be—thoughtful, purposeful, elegant, and uncompromising.

When Butter & Blush officially launched, there was never a question which body cream would lead the collection.

This was it.

It became our Signature Body Crème.

Not because I decided it should be our signature product.

Because it had already earned that place.

It was the formula that brought together years of learning, years of experimenting, and the moment my knowledge became something deeply personal.

Even today, every jar reminds me why I formulate the way I do.

Not to follow trends.

Not to fill shelves.

But to create products that are beautiful to use because every ingredient has earned its place.
